Classroom Teacher

Job Summary

• The classroom teacher is responsible for managing the classroom, nurturing students in growth and development, and providing instruction in the assigned grade and curriculum area that aligns with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the school. 

Reporting relationships

• The classroom teacher reports directly to the Department Principal. Classroom teachers also collaborate with the Head of School, Academic Dean, and Special Area Teachers to create quality educational experiences for students. 

Qualifications

• Must be a mature Christian with a clear testimony
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
• Preferably 1 -2 years of teaching experience
• Preferably hold a current teacher’s license

Responsibilities

• Model a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ in attitude, speech and actions 
• Design and implement instruction that addresses the academic, emotional, social, and physical needs of the students
• Create and submit lesson plans with objectives that align with established curricular goals 
• Maintain a safe, inviting, organized classroom environment that promotes engaged learning
• Differentiate instruction, aligning methods and techniques to meet diverse student needs
• Incorporate creative, hands-on, student centered learning experiences 
• Integrate Biblical principles and Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum
• Collaborate with the Special Education Coordinator to support students with Individualized Educational Programs (IEP)
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by administrative regulations
• Employ strategies of effective classroom management which focus on positive reinforcement
